A Beneficial Owner is a person or group of people who ultimately own or control an entity, such as a company, trust, or partnership. These individuals are required by law to file the new Beneficial Ownership Information Report (BOI).

WHAT IS BOI?

The Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) report is a document that discloses the owners of a business. It is required by the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) of 2021 (implemented January 1 2024.) The BOI report is filed with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
